Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
– Winston Churchill
Traditional advertising is dead. We all know that by now (hopefully). But what a lot of companies do not know, is how thankful they should be for the internet and it’s ability to let customers speak up. Browsing the world wide web shows that a lot of companies see the huge possibilities of listening to customers. And why wouldn’t they?
If organizations have a good relationship with their customers, they’ll say what they want and what they expect from your product, service and your company.
If you have a fantastic relationship with your customers, they’ll even do the marketing for you and spread the word/news about you.
So why is it often so hard to sit down and listen to your customers? They are reaching out for you. Willing to help you by telling you what they want and what they need.
It is sad to see that some companies don’t see the opportunities of the empowerment of customers. Instead marketers are rather scared of joining the conversation and keep things the traditional way; by doing what they think is good for their product or service.
